

Lipno nad Vltavou is a small village in South Bohemia located on the left bank of the Lipno reservoir near the dam. The water reservoir Lipno was built in the middle of 20th century. With its area of 4650ha and its cubic capacity of 306 million m³ it is the biggest water reservoir in the Czech Republic. The beautiful location can offer various sport activities for the visitors. In summer you can go swimming, yachting, windsurfing or sport fishing. For the winter period there is a modern ski centre Kramolin with slopes of various difficulties. There are also cross-country tracks, a snow park and a special ski centre for the little ones.
The walkaway was opened for the tourists in 2012. The walkway is finished by a 40 meter nonagon observation tower. There is a beautiful view of the Lake Lipno and its surrounding. From the top of the tower you can get down on a 52 metre long dry toboggan, which is the longest in the Czech Republic. To get to the Treetop Walkway you can use a cableway or the “Stezkabus”. Or you can take a 30 minute walk from the apartment. Another option is to rent a scooter for the way down.
Experience the Lipno Line sightseeing cruises. The Adalbert Stifter sightseeing boat operates throughout the day. The boarding places are Lipno nad Vltavou station and Frymburk station. Or you can try Vltava cruise between Horní Planá and Černá v Pošumaví. The boarding place Lipno nad Vltavou station is only 5 minutes on foot from the apartment.
Do you wish to go on a bobsleigh ride? It takes 10 minutes on foot form the apartment. There are two intertwined bobsleighs tracks – an Alpine coaster and Bobsleigh track. After the rides you can refresh yourself in the local pub.
Lipno Ski resort is especially suitable for families and also for beginning skiers. There is a ski bus operating between the apartment and the resort. The boarding place is at hotel Bouczech, next to the parking area. Cross country skiers can find some good tracks in the area.
If the weather is freezing the lake changes into a beautiful ice rink. The skating tracks seems to be endless.
The rental shops offers electric or sailing boats, kayaks, catamarans or paddle boats. There are also windsurfing or yachting schools.
At Marina Lipno you can find a big and spacious Lipno beach. In case of bad weather you can take your children to indoor swimming pools in Aquaworld or an indoor playground. Both 5 minutes on foot from the apartment.
Lipno is made both cycling enthusiasts and family bike trips. There are also ideal conditions for in-line skaters. Lots of beautiful trails are awaiting you. The trails can take you to Přední Výtoň and Nová Pec. There is a relaxing part around Lipno dam or you can take a ferry from Frymburk and back along the other side of Lipno dam.
The beauty of Šumava nature is worth to seeing. The places like Vítkův Hrádek, Plešné jezero, Vyšší Brod, Rožmberk castle and Česky Krumlov (which is on UNESCO list) are very popular.
This ski resort is located on the Austrian side of Šumava and it is the biggest Austrian ski resort outside the Alps. The slopes here are for the skiers of all levels – easy a relaxing slopes for the families and beginners, the advanced skiers can try FIS European slopes.
